Participant Waiver and Release Agreement

By purchasing a ticket and participating in the Espetáculo de Lanternas, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

Assumption of Risk

I understand that attending and participating in the Espetáculo de Lanternas involves potential risks. These include, but are not limited to: walking in low-light conditions, uneven terrain, muddy or sandy areas, proximity to open flames (tiki torches, lanterns), bodies of water, insects, exposure to weather conditions, and the general physical demands of the event. I certify that I am in good health and physically able to participate in all event activities. I assume full responsibility for my safety and the safety of any minors in my care during the festival.

I accept all risks of injury, property loss, or even death, whether caused by terrain, environmental hazards, fire, weather, interaction with other participants, or actions of volunteers, staff, or attendees. I agree to follow all applicable laws and immediately comply with instructions from event staff and emergency personnel.

Health and Safety Acknowledgement

I understand this event involves physical activity near fire and other elements that could pose serious hazards. I will monitor my health, wear appropriate footwear and attire, and immediately alert event staff of any dangerous conditions. I confirm that I am not under the influence of alcohol or any medication that could impair my judgment or participation. If I am taking prescribed medication, I affirm that I have been cleared by a physician to participate in the event.

I also understand that I am responsible for any medical costs incurred due to injury or illness related to my participation. I authorize on-site staff to provide necessary first aid or medical treatment in the event of an emergency.

Liability Waiver and Release

In consideration of being permitted to attend and participate in the Espetáculo de Lanternas, I, on behalf of myself and any minors under my supervision, agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Espetáculo de Lanternas, its sponsors, partners, volunteers, staff, venue hosts, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, or damages arising from my participation. This includes any claims arising out of negligence or carelessness.

I understand that Espetáculo de Lanternas does not provide health, medical, or disability insurance, and I am solely responsible for obtaining my own coverage.

Media Release

I grant Espetáculo de Lanternas and its affiliates the right to use photographs, video, and audio recordings of me (and any minors accompanying me) taken during the festival for promotional, advertising, and other lawful purposes. This usage may occur across various media platforms including websites, social media, publications, and promotional materials, without compensation or additional approval.

General Terms

I understand that pets, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, and scooters are not permitted at the event. I agree to respect these rules.

I acknowledge that tickets are non-refundable unless optional ticket protection was purchased. If the event is canceled due to circumstances beyond the organizer’s control, I understand that there may be no obligation to refund ticket fees or associated costs.

This agreement is binding, and by participating, I waive the right to bring any legal claim against Espetáculo de Lanternas and all related parties.

For Participants Under 18

If the participant is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must read and accept this waiver on their behalf. By signing, the guardian confirms the minor is in good physical condition to participate and grants permission for emergency medical treatment if needed.

By attending the Espetáculo de Lanternas, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms above.
